Treasurer Tripp Eure's 2011-2012 Financial Report to the Membership

As of the writing of this report, the New Year has quietly settled in on all of us.  I would not be surprised if many are quite eager to leave 2011 far behind and instead look forward to opportunities yet to be revealed.  Rest assured that the “State of our Section is Strong,” to borrow a familiar rally line.  Our membership has remained steadfast in number despite the challenges, with 65 architect members, 17 associate members and 20 emeritus members.

The Executive Board has been diligent in carefully managing our resources in these difficult times.  This past year, we have successfully funded and executed what has become our annual guest speaker series, golf tournament fundraiser, and late summer sailing outing.  Once again the Section has sponsored a scholarship for deserving candidates at NC State University and UNC Charlotte, each in the amount of $1,500.  Our Section has been represented at AIA Grassroots, Legislative Day in Raleigh and regular AIANC Chapter meetings.  Perhaps some positive things have been accomplished in 2011.
